Many festival activities are centered around a key attraction here in Columbus: the Chattahoochee River that runs along the city’s 15-mile RiverWalk, where people stroll along the banks while taking in waterside views.

As summer fades into fall, community members gather by the river for RushSouth Fest, where musical notes and nature meet during a two-day event featuring rock, country, folk, the blues and water sports. Hundreds of athletes from around the globe come to the Chattahoochee River to compete in freestyle kayaking championships during the event, which also features triathlons and 5K runs.
